AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BS or equivalent + 14 yrs related experience, or MS + 12 yrs related experience


Description : The AWS DevOps Cloud Engineer will provide subject matter expertise in support of a Government client's AWS best practices in cloud hosting in support of a DevOps environment. They will be responsible for managing, monitoring and deploying highly available, highly scalable applications  for one or more environments/systems and work as a member of the Agile/Scrum team daily for the maintenance, upkeep and integrity of these environments. Provide expertise in the use of Cloud reference architectures and solutions to support software development in a DevOps environment. Leverage the applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field and apply general knowledge of other related disciplines. Support technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Provide analysis for approach to solutions.


Experience with working in defense or intelligence community Cloud environments, including AWS GovCloud, MilCloud, or C2S

Experience with multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows

Experience in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments, including following stack traces back to code to determine root cause analysis

Experience with running Internet facing or auto-deployed environments while adhering to service level agreements 

Experience in working with other Cloud Service Providers, including Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud a plus

Agile Development, Cloud systems, or ITIL related Certifications

Experience within the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense

Experience with Provisioning tools (Chef/Puppet/Pivotal Cloud Foundry)

Experience with Continuous Integration toolsets (Jenkins, etc.)

Experience with Source Control Management tools (GGithub, etc.)

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related quantitative field.  Prefer to have a Master’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
