Desktop Technician will have responsibility for delivering a broad range of tasks with the aim of delivering excellence in customer experience. As a member of the EMEA IT team, this position reports to the IT Service Manager. Your responsibilities will be varied, ranging from Desktop Support on hardware, working with technology in a manufacturing, laboratory and office environments, which you will become the subject matter expert for.
Tasks also include configuring, upgrading, testing and maintenance of the systems, and look to innovate where possible utilising new technologies. They will be responsible for their own time management and ensuring that all support queries are dealt with promptly and efficiently and managed through the entire ticketing and support process.
The IT Support team complete tasks mostly face to face, helping staff at their desk to resolve issues, but will involve remote support of users who are in the field. There are also major projects ahead to upgrade systems and hardware
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
Purchase, Install and configure desktops and other devices and peripherals.
Take Ownership of issues through to resolution.
Implement temporary or permanent resolutions to problems with the aim of restoring service to the Stakeholder as soon as possible.
Escalate incidents to Manager or external support where necessary.
Creation of users on the active directory / Exchange.
Order and maintain peripherals such Printers, scanners, Mobile Phones.
Identify, Log and resolve support calls in timely manner.
Build a close working relationship with the IT providers for our network and server support.
Ensure that the work is carried out within the agreed KPI’s.
Ability to work outside of normal working hours

Key Skills and Qualifications
Excellent IT Skills and computer literacy.
Understanding of Computer support and troubleshooting.
Ability to Diagnose and solve hardware/software faults.
Excellent Internal customer service whether Face-to-Face, Telephone or email.
In depth knowledge of hardware and software
Working experience within an IT role.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems (Windows 7/10) as well as various software packages including Office 365.
