This position acts under general supervision, following instruction and guidance provided. Closely supervised with minimum latitude for independent judgment. Supports all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects primarily for Epic Applications and other third party EMR, Revenue Cycle and Patient Access software products and contract services. Responsible for participating in the team’s work and task management of assigned teams. Performs data collection and root cause analysis of barriers to success, and offers potential solutions to stakeholders. Communicates clearly and often, as well as documenting, following and enforcing approved change control procedures. Drives and facilitates coordination of efforts required from technical teams, vendors and operations to ensure that system integrity is maintained and that IT deliverables meet operational business needs. Prepares activity and other reports as necessary. Attains necessary certifications, as applicable, in a timely manner according to policy.
Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and objectives. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables. Follows advice and guidance of more senior project managers.
Reports to the Director of IT EMR & Patient Systems or Team Lead. May work with CIO, Directors, managers and staff at all levels through multi-disciplinary teams. Must be efficient at project planning, collaborative goal setting, and motivating all connected to feel ownership of project goals and deliverables. Workload and deadline pressure will regularly subject incumbent to moderate to high job-related stress.
Bachelor degree in Project Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Clinical Healthcare, Business or other related field of study or High School diploma plus 4 years of project coordination/program administration experience.
• Need ability to follow oral instruction, read and write.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
