Software Development Manager


  • Manage Core Software team to deliver high quality software to meet product requirements
  • Develop, evaluate, scope and schedule new features and functionality to software code base
  • Direct design and implementation of core software to meet product requirements
  • Cultivate software architectures to meet future product demands
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to define new products and ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Evaluate and champion new technologies to increase product capabilities, improve software quality, and grow development team efficiently and effectiveness
  • Continuously seek innovative ways to improve development productivity and quality through the introduction of new technologies, tools, systems, and processes
  • Develop, and provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to core software team, including performance management and evaluations
  • Organize and direct conceptual design and brainstorming activities as required
  • Other applicable duties, as assigned or required


  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • 5-10 years of experience leading software development projects, including guiding and mentoring individuals on a project basis
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledgeable in developing complex products involving integration of hardware and software components
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, introduce, and drive process development improvements
  • Proven success in managing timely completion of engineering projects
  • Performance and results oriented with track record of developing, motivating, and leading strong, effective teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, innovative problem-solving skills, and strong facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of current software development lifecycles. Knowledgeable of data and system architectures
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint) and MS Project
  • Ability to travel as required


  • MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related engineering discipline or MBA
  • Experience in the industrial controls domain
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Comprehensive understanding of the key challenges (analytics / software) facing the Oil & Gas industry, both for upstream and downstream
  • Confident leadership that inspires others and fosters collaboration amongst all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates proficiency using independent judgment.  Consistently and clearly demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions to all opportunities focused on Customer and TechnipFMC Success
