The specialty majors in this course focus on mobile application development, software design and development and networks and information security these are supported by an available minor in Project and Program Management.
This course is designed to provide you with up-to-date knowledge on how to manage the technical, organisational and economic issues involved in the management of information technology (IT) resources and systems. All units have been aligned to the Australian Computer Society (ACS) core body of knowledge.
|Networks and Information Security|
You are required to complete fifteen (15) units, comprising of eleven (11) discipline units within a selected major and four (4) electives. Majors can be selected from Mobile Application Development or Network Security or Software Development. The course also offers a 12 credit point capstone project where you demonstrate your knowledge by completing a discipline project. You can accomplish work integrated learning by an internship.

|COIT20276||Students have the option of undertaking an internship instead of the capstone units COIT202665, COIT20272 or COIT20273.|
|Students are able to undertake discipline capstone units while working with industry partners. The capstone units are COIT20273 Software Design and Development Project, COIT20272 Mobile Application Development Project and COIT20265 Networks and Information Security Project.|

To gain entry to this course students must have:
A bachelor degree in any discipline from an Australian university or college, or equivalent; or a CQUniversity Graduate Diploma in Information Technology or equivalent.
Students who have completed an approved graduate diploma such as the CC46 Graduate Diploma of Information Technology, will be granted advanced standing of up to 6 core units, 1 elective and the first discipline units in your chosen major.

Advanced entry is available directly into term 2 for students who can demonstrate they have attained the required knowledge. These students will undertake 12 units to complete the course. To be granted advanced entry a student must:
1. have a bachelor degree; and
2. be able to demonstrate they have the required knowledge (based on the content of units COIT20245, COIT20248, COIT20246 and PPMP20007; and
- have one year other postgraduate education; or
- have attained a final year GPA of 4.7 in their undergraduate degree at an Australian Institution or equivalent.
Students may also be granted advanced standing for one or two units if they meet the requirements of (1) and (3) above but cannot sufficiently demonstrate they have the required knowledge (based on the content of in all four units COIT20245, COIT20248, COIT20246 and PPMP20007) to receive full advanced standing.
