Master of Science in information quality (MSIQ)

The Master of Science in information quality (MSIQ) is a career-oriented program focusing on practice, skills, and theory. The 33-hour program, which can be completed in 18 months, is designed to prepare students for careers in industry and government as well as advanced graduate studies.

The curriculum balances information quality theory with industry best practices using state-of-the-art tools and technology. It is based on the Model Curriculum and Guidelines for Graduate Degree Programs in Information Systems endorsed by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and Association for Information Systems (AIS). The course content has been developed with the support of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Information Quality Program, based at the MIT Center for Technology, Policy, and Industrial Development, and with additional help from leading practitioners and researchers within the information quality community.

All required courses are offered online via live webcast (synchronous) and taught by highly qualified doctoral-level faculty with extensive experience in the field. Students have the option to complete either a project or a thesis for their capstone.

Anyone with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited school can apply for admission to the program. Candidates who have a background in computer programming, database concepts, and applied statistics, or who have professional experience in an information quality role will be the most prepared to enter and successfully complete the program.

Please note: The Information Science department requires students who live within a 50-mile radius of the UA Little Rock campus to complete this particular program in a face-to-face format. Please contact the program advisor for more details.
